Prinny Party: Going Overboard is finally hitting Japanese shelves this November with a Western launch already in the works

Prinny Chaos Returns: Grab Your Friends for the Ultimate Netherworld Party!

If you've been craving some chaotic, explosive fun featuring everyone's favorite bomb-toting penguins, I’ve got great news. Nippon Ichi Software just pulled the curtain back on Prinny Party: Going Overboard!, a brand-new four-player party game that looks like exactly the kind of mess we all need in our game libraries.

The game is officially hitting shelves in Japan and across Asia on November 12. It’s coming out swinging, too, landing on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, and PC via Steam. If you’re outside of those regions, don't panic! NIS America has already confirmed that a western release is currently in the oven. While we don't have a firm date yet, the team is aiming to get it into our hands later this year.

What exactly is this Prinny madness?

Think of it as the ultimate test of friendship. The game is all about tossing your friends, enemies, and anyone else who gets in your way. Yes, you can literally huck Prinnies across the map—just try not to let them blow up in your face too often. The strategic layer kicks in with the ability to construct and upgrade facilities like armories and hospitals. The catch? Everyone playing gets to use your shiny new buildings, so you’re basically helping your rivals as much as yourself.

One of the coolest parts is the Assembly feature. You can pass bills to gain wild advantages, like doubling your damage output or even constructing a massive cannon to blast your way to victory. It’s chaotic, petty, and sounds like a total blast for game night.

Play with friends, even if they're broke

One of the biggest hurdles with party games is getting everyone to own a copy, but NIS has solved that for us. The game will support "Game Share" on the Switch 2 and "Remote Play Together" on Steam. This means you only need one person to own the game for the whole squad to jump in and start causing trouble. Whether you’re looking for a digital copy on Steam or a physical case to add to your collection on PS5 or Switch 2, there’s going to be an option for you.

Keep your eyes peeled on the NIS America social channels for the specific western release date. Until then, you might want to start practicing your Prinny-tossing skills. You're going to need them.
