Get ready for the cutest supernatural battle you’ve ever seen. The action-fantasy hit Paws & Palaces—originally known in China as Zi Jin: Yu Miao Fang—is officially making its way to Japan. If you missed out on the original 16-episode run, you’re in luck: a brand-new Japanese dub is set to premiere this October.

A Supernatural Mission Inside the Forbidden City

Based on the charming webcomic Forbidden City: Cat Imperial Study by A'Nan and Daitu, this show puts a unique spin on history. While the Forbidden City is packed with tourists daily, it hides a secret world. Our protagonists are six ordinary-looking house cats who moonlight as magical guardians. Their duty? They must dive into the "wuhua," or inner worlds of ancient artifacts, to defend history against a shadowy demonic force called the Black Owl.

To celebrate the upcoming release, the production team dropped a fresh teaser trailer and a sleek new visual. Even better, we finally have the full lineup for the Japanese voice cast, and it’s absolutely stacked with talent:
