Ho-Kago Palette is officially calling it quits as The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten idol unit disbands

It’s Time to Say Goodbye: Ho-kago Palette Bids Farewell to Their Idol Journey

Sad news for fans of the cozy romance hit The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. The official social media accounts for the series just dropped the bombshell that Ho-kago Palette, the three-member idol unit born from the anime’s promotional efforts, will be officially graduating on July 21.

If you’ve been following the second season’s hype, you know this group started as a creative way to bring Mahiru Shiina’s idol dreams to life. What began as a solo spotlight for Mahiru (voiced by Manaka Iwami) in late 2025 quickly grew into something bigger. By April 2026, Chitose Shirakawa (Haruka Shiraishi) and Ayaka Kido (Marika Kono) jumped into the mix, forming the trio we’ve come to love.

A Short but Sweet Run

Though their time together as an official idol group was brief, they certainly made an impression. They managed to drop two catchy tracks, "Romantic Memories" and "Sekkyoku-teki ni Gyutteshite! (Gimme Gimme Hug!)," which perfectly captured that upbeat, sweet aesthetic fans expect from the show. It’s definitely a bummer to see the project wrap up so soon, but they’re going out with a bang.

To celebrate their run and give fans one last moment together, the three voice actresses—Manaka Iwami, Haruka Shiraishi, and Marika Kono—are hosting a special graduation live radio stream on YouTube. Make sure to mark your calendars for July 21 at 8:00 PM JST (that’s 4:00 AM PT for the early birds) to catch the finale.

Looking Back at the Season

The second season of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten wrapped up its 12-episode run just this past June. We saw some behind-the-scenes changes this time around, with Chihiro Kumano taking over the director’s chair at studio project No.9. Even with the shift, the show kept that familiar, heartwarming vibe thanks to the return of series composer Keiichiro Ochi and character designer Takayuki Noguchi.

If you need to catch up on the story—or just want to revisit the wholesome dynamic between Amane and his angelic neighbor Mahiru—you can stream the entire series on Crunchyroll. It’s the perfect series to binge if you’re looking for a low-stakes, high-comfort watch. While we say goodbye to Ho-kago Palette as an idol unit, at least we still have the beautiful memories of their music and the show itself.
