Tiny Metal: Zero Line Is Bringing Tactical Warfare to the Big Screen!

If you were lucky enough to be at Japan Expo in Paris this past week, you caught a glimpse of something special. AREA35 just pulled back the curtain on the anime adaptation of their beloved tactical game series, officially titled Tiny Metal: Zero Line. The pilot episode dropped on July 9, and the buzz is already starting to build.

The project looks like a visual treat, which isn't surprising given the powerhouse team behind it. Studio Khara’s Hiroyasu Kobayashi—you might know his stellar CGI work from the Evangelion rebuilds and Mobile Suit Gundam G-Witch—is sitting in the director’s chair at SAFEHOUSE. To keep the aesthetic sharp, they’ve tapped Fire Emblem legend Yusuke Kozaki for character designs.

A Sneak Peek at the Action

Kozaki-san actually made an appearance at the event, giving fans a live demonstration of his process by drawing Lysandra Echo, a new face set to debut in the upcoming Tiny Metal 2. Speaking of the sequel, it’s currently locked in for a Spring 2027 release, and with Demon Slayer composer Go Shiina handling the music, the game is shaping up to be an audio-visual powerhouse.

But let’s talk about the anime’s story, because it sounds like a high-stakes military thriller. The world is still recovering from the scars of a Great War that left behind "Lost Tech"—ancient, buried war machines that are essentially ticking time bombs. The Kingdom of Artemisia has a strict "hands-off" policy regarding these weapons, but Major Nathan Gries isn't so sure. He thinks the only way to keep the world safe is to find them first, before anyone else can.

Naturally, trouble starts brewing almost immediately. The story kicks off when a mysterious signal pops up under the Northridge Alps, triggering an emergency transmission from the White Fangs. With Major Gries, Lord General Isoroku Tsukumo, and the White Fangs' leader, Wolfram, all in the mix, it’s clear that things are about to get complicated. We’re still waiting on more details regarding the full voice cast and additional staff, but with this kind of talent involved, it's definitely one to keep on your radar.
